Box 3.5 Update Lets Users Mark Favorites, Manage Collaborators, and More

Box is a cloud storage provider that is challenging for the average consumer to get excited about. That’s because while competitors chased around general users, Box kept its sights focused primarily on the enterprise market. Yet you don’t have to be a business client to take advantage of the latest update, as the service is available for free to consumers as well.

Version 3.5 of Box brings in the ability to mark files and folders as favorites. This will make them reachable through an easily accessible page in the sidebar. This is one of those consumer-friendly features that Dropbox, Google Drive, and others implemented ages ago. Nevertheless, it’s a good thing to see.

Fortunately, the change log doesn’t stop there. 3.5 brings in the ability to manage who is working together on a file or folder, print straight from the file preview page, and create checklists using Box Notes. If this small block of text was too intimidating, here’s a list with the same information in bullet point form.

What’s new:

  • Add files and folders as Favorites for easy access
  • View and manage collaborators in folders
  • Print images and documents from the file preview page (Android 4.4 or higher)
  • Create checklists within Box Notes (Android 4.4 or higher)
