[Bonus Round] Cosmonautica, Rogue’s Tale, And Sonic Jump Fever
Welcome to the latest entry in our Bonus Round series, wherein we tell you all about the new Android games of the day that we couldn’t get to during our regular news rounds. Consider this a quick update for the dedicated gamers who can’t wait for our bi-weekly roundups, and don’t want to wade through a whole day’s worth of news just to get their pixelated fix. Today we’ve got a space pirate math game, a randomized roguelike, and a rebooted Sega jumper. Without further ado:
Cosmonautica (EARLY ACCESS)
Cosmonautica is probably as close as we’re ever going to get to a real Futurama game. In this science fiction romp you manage and expand your cosmic corporate empire, by which I mean one crappy ship. Buy low and sell high in an impressively cartoony 3D world, managing your crew and fighting off the various brigands that wait between stations. It’s part Sims and part Space Trader, but it’s all early access, so be prepared to encounter a few bugs in the EPS manifold.

Cosmonautica is a fresh genre mix in a quirky and humorous universe, paired with funky space tunes for your intergalactic enjoyment. You will be an aspiring captain on the hunt for fame and fortune. Are you ready for some hilarious adventures in outer space? Cosmonautica combines elements of space trading and life simulation to create an unique experience. Only if you take good care of your crew you will be able to succeed.
Rogue’s Tale
If you don’t know what roguelike is by now, you probably won’t like them. If you do, you enjoy randomized levels and permanent death, not to mention an insane amount of “retro” pixelated graphics. So if dungeon-crawling one square at a time for equal amounts of randomized battles and epic loot is your bag of holding, pick this one up – it has no ads or in-app purchases.

Sonic Jump Fever
Do you think this game looks a lot like Sonic Jump? That’s because it is. For some reason, Sega decided to redesign and re-release the original, now with 100% more FREE and probably somewhere in the vicinity of 40% more in-app purchases. So, yeah, this is the Amazing Spider-Man of Sega mobile games. It does have a few more fast-paced moves than the original, but it also seems noticeably easier, and the original wasn’t that hard.
