Donald Trump vs. George Conway: Who Wins?
No, the two of them aren’t going to be joining the ring on the next airing of Wrestlemania. They are, however, in the middle of a steamy internet feud that only seems to be getting increasingly worse. And let’s face it? We all can’t get enough of it. It has the President of the United States sending ‘shots fired’ at another respected man, and their tweets leave us gasping and laughing all at the same time.
We all know Donald Trump is not one to turn down an internet feud. He lives for social media, so when given a chance to spark up a rivalry with George Conway he was readily up for the challenge. However, this spark didn’t just light up overnight. In fact, this skirmish has been taking place for several months. Only recently has it gained intense media exposure and become something we’re all talking about AND tweeting about.
Last week we all saw a very taunting and degrading message from Mr. Trump, reading:
“George Conway, often referred to as Mr. Kellyanne Conway by those who know him, is VERY jealous of his wife’s success & angry that I, with her help, didn’t give him the job he so desperately wanted. I barely know him but just take a look, a stone cold LOSER & husband from hell!”

Um, wow. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that there is a serious quarrel going on between these two gentlemen. But what sparked this intense message from the president to George Conway?
First and foremost, there is speculation that George Conway was desperate for a job in the White House. However, with his wife Kellyanne Conway already being a reputable member of the White House team, he was not given the opportunity. Trump never extended an arm to ask him to be a member of his team, and this infuriated George Conway.
On the other hand, George Conway claims that this is entirely false. In fact he claims to have a letter written to the President stating that he is very grateful for the offer, but will not accept. He later states that he respects Trump and is a supporter of his governing and decisions.
If that were true, then why would George Conway begin severely attacking the president? He recently told the public that he thought Donald Trump was ‘nuts’, in a very specific tweet that simply read: “You. Are. Nuts.”. This was the following behind a series of tweets that had the description of what narcissism is, referring to Trump as having all of the qualities of a narcissist.
It doesn’t seem like a man who respects Trump and wanted to be a part of the authority would say things such as this. From this standpoint and not knowing the full story, it seems as though George Conway truly is upset over not getting the position.
However, there is also a huge possibility that Trump is upset over being turned down by Conway for the open position. We all know that alongside a good fight, Trump does not like to be turned down for anything. That being said, Trump could easily have been the one starting this feud and plans to carry it out to the fullest.
Another reason why the POTUS might be upset? Well, hey, nobody wants to be called crazy or made to look like they have a mental disease. I’m pretty sure anyone who is called out for having symptoms of a severe mental problem would be upset. Whether these are facts or not, it would anger anybody. It’s also nobody’s right to pretend to be a psychologist, right? So, where do we go from there? Honestly, I believe it’s up to the viewers to decide whose side they are on.
Ladies and gentleman: the battle does not just stop at those tweets, though. It seems that the fire is only starting to spiral out of control. In fact, this afternoon, Trump decided to leave for a speech in Ohio. But not until he noted that George Conway is in fact a ‘whack job’ and is doing ‘an incredible disservice to a wonderful wife’.
It certainly is nice to hear Donald Trump talk so positively and nicely about a woman in power, isn’t it? But what is all of this resentment and fighting doing to the marriage of Kellyanne and George Conway? It isn’t something that is being talked about often, but perhaps it should be.
Of course, being the wife of someone the President is heavily feuding with is going to cause a lot of attention your way. Kellyanne seems like she is trying her absolute hardest to stay out of things, which is in her best interest considering her position of power within the government. However, it does not appear that Kellyanne is just saying things to make Trump feel better and keep her position. It seems that Kellyanne stands behind what she says and doesn’t budge when it comes to being questioned about her beliefs standing in line with her husbands.
A recent interview with Kellyanne Conway came just recently on Monday. In this interview, Kellyanne was asked about the concerns George had put on the mental health state of the leader of the Free World. She didn’t have much to say about the topic, but made her opinion very clear by simply saying this: “No, I don’t share those concerns”. A rather powerful message indeed.
Another interview was also conducted today in which Kellyanne stated that Trump had left the comments of her husband alone for months. He did it out of respect for Kellyanne and didn’t want to make that business public. She did state, though, that she didn’t blame him for commenting back when her husband made a post about his mental health. She states: “But you think he shouldn’t respond when somebody, a non-medical professional accuses him of having a mental disorder?” Well, we certainly can’t blame him for that.
Do we believe that this fight is making things awkward for Kellyanne and George? Of course it does! A fight that crosses the line between work and home is always going to be an issue, and that’s why it was swept under the wrong for so long.
But problems didn’t just seemingly arise out of nowhere for these two. Supposedly, Kellyanne claims in August of 2018 that George was starting to believe that she had chosen Donald Trump over him. This is an outright ridiculous statement, as work stays at work and home stars at home. This may have been an early hint that George was in fact jealous of his wife, and even more furious that he was not offered a position of power while his wife was.
So what’s to come of this feud? Well, it’s hard to say. Trump is dead set on the fact that George is a ‘husband from hell’ and completely jealous over his wife’s success. If true, that is pretty pathetic. If not true, then I suppose we’re just going to have to wait and see what else comes from with quarrel between the two men.
It’s getting steamier by the day, people. Make sure you’re staying up to date with the latest tweets from Trump and Conway to see how this all plays out.
