Flockers Is A Lemmings-Style Puzzle Game From The Creators Of Worms, Now Available On Google Play

In Worms, sheep are used as suicidal explosives. The helpless animals run in the direction they’re released in, turning around only if their path is blocked. Seeking freedom, their plans are inevitably thwarted when the automatic timer runs out or a player triggers their detonation, bringing their life to an end.

In Flockers, a Lemmings-style puzzle game from Worms-developer Team 17, the sheep have had enough. Rather than continue this hopeless existence, they make a break for it. Unfortunately, the future is still pretty bleak. Not willing to let the flock escape, the worms try to block it off using buzz saws, swinging meat cleavers, spikes, and whatever else their cruel minds can come up with.

You, warmhearted player, are tasked with guiding the sheep to freedom,Â gettingÂ as many of the animals as possible from point A to point B. There are 18 types to look out for, ranging from plain sheep to pirate, robot,Â and zombie-looking ones. Many will die along the way. The journey will be gruesome. But anything is better than the hopelessness and indignity of waiting to be used as a suicide bomb in someone else’s war.

Flockers has already been available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Windows, Mac, and Linux). Critics have responded withÂ mixed reviews, but at least now you can get your hands on the title for a lower price. The newly-released Play Store version currently goes for $1.99 (a launchÂ discount from $3.99), much less than Steam’s asking price of $19.99. There are in-app purchases, but they simply let you buy new sheep sooner than you otherwise would. You’re more than welcome to unlock them the old-fashioned way.
