No One Won the Powerball Jackpot and Now it’s Up to $750 Million

No one matched all six numbers on Saturday’s drawing, so the jackpot for Wednesday, March 27th has jumped to $750 million making it the 3rd largest Powerball jackpot in history.
The winning numbers on Saturday were 24, 25, 52, 60, 66, plus Powerball 5, and Power Play 3X.
Since no one picked those numbers, $750 million is now available to win for anyone who can match the numbers drawn.

Tickets from Florida, Illinois, South Carolina, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New York, and North Dakota all matched the five white ball numbers, winning $1 million each. Others in Florida and Wisconsin also matched the five white ball numbers and added a Power Play multiplier, granting them $2 million each.
The last time anyone won the jackpot was the day after Christmas.

Ticket Prices & Where to Play

Sold in 44 states, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Just select five numbers between 1 and 69 for the white balls, and one number between 1 and 26 for the red Powerball.
You also have the option to have your numbers randomly chosen for you.
With nine ways to win, even if you don’t get the grand prize of $750 million, you could still walk away with some extra cash.

The drawing will take place at 10:59 EST on Wednesday, and the Powerball results will be posted within five minutes of the drawing. Most states will stop ticket sales about an hour before the drawing, but a few states will cut off sales earlier. Illinois, for instance, cuts off sales three hours before the drawing. Be sure to check with your state lottery to find out when they stop ticket sales.
Drawings can be viewed on 125 television stations nationwide. Shows are also recorded and posted to Powerball.com under their video section.

Power Play

With the Power Play multiplier, you have the chance to multiply non-jackpot prizes by 2,3, 4, 5, or even 10 times. Just ask for Power Play with your ticket purchase. It only costs an extra $1, and your multiplier number will be randomly selected.
The 10X Power Play option is only in effect when the advertised jackpot if $150 million or less.

Nine Ways to Win

Simply match all five white ball numbers and the red Powerball number, and you have the grand prize.
However, there are eight more ways to win if you don’t:
• Match five white ball numbers: $1 Million
• Match 4 white ball numbers and red Powerball: $50,000
• Match 4 white ball numbers: $100
• Match 3 white ball numbers and red Powerball: $100
• Match 3 white ball numbers: $7
• Match 2 white ball numbers and red Powerball: $7
• Match 1 white ball number and red Powerball: $4
• Match just the red Powerball: $4
If you purchased the Power Play option with your ticket, you have the chance to win more depending on how many numbers you match and the amount of your multiplier.

The Odds

The odds of winning a prize are the same in every Powerball drawing, no matter the available jackpot. Whether it’s $40 million (or $750 million) you have a 1 in 24.9 chance of winning a prize.
More players in the lottery game also don’t change the odds. No matter what, the odds are always going to be 1 in 24.9.

What to Do if You Win?

Winners have the option to receive their prize in one lump sum, or as an annuity.
If you win and choose the annuity option, you’ll be guaranteed to receive 30 graduated payments over 29 years. Each payment increases by 5% until the final payment is sent.
Although the lottery doesn’t offer any legal or financial guidance upon winning, it is highly recommended that winners seek assistance from legal or financial professionals. Most people don’t know what to do when they suddenly come into so much money and can far too easily spend it all or end up in debt.
