Lyft Further Readies Android App For Lollipop, Also Launches Lyft For Work

Android 5.0 is heading out to select Moto devices, Nexus owners are firing up fastboot, and the sweet smell of candy and tangibly designed interfaces are in the air. Feeling the spirit, Lyft has updated its app with a slightly more up-to-date look.

The biggest change here is the introduction of a new sidebar. It now pops out over all other UI elements.

New, old.

Lyft has also removed the separator underneath the action bar and whitened things up a tad.

On a different note, Lyft is kicking off Lyft for Work, a way to cut down on the number of vehicles commuting each day with no more than a single occupant. Companies can give workers credits to spend exclusively on rides to and from the office, to certain events, or to certain transit stops. Employers can customize how workers are able to use the credit, limiting them to certain areas or times of day.

Nearly 30 partners have already signed on, including Yelp and Postmates. If you’re an HR manager who may be interested, you can sign up over at Lyft’s site.
