Swish

This week’s roundup is brought to you by Swish from developer Devionix. This free physics game stars a pair of space aliens with an inexplicable love of basketball. When a swarm of interstellar bees invades their ship, they use a little parabolic physics, super-advanced technology, and a humble b-ball to smash the bees and grab some coins. The game’s simple premise hides surprising depth as the stages become more complex. Swish is free to play, with in-app purchases (none larger than $2) for more coins, unlimited restarts, and power-up boosters.

Have you ever played basketball in space? Help two friendly aliens to get rid of Cosmo Bees – the vicious intruders that invaded their spaceship. But be careful – the only weapon you have is a basketball.Master your basketball skills and show the uninvited guests what you’re capable of. Use parts of the scenery, discover cool space gadgets to interact with, and if you’re lucky enough, you’ll collect some shiny gold coins on the way. Boost your abilities with awesome power-ups like magnets, jet motors, bubbles and more. Unlock the increasingly challenging levels to beat the annoying space insects and free the unfortunate aliens. Use everything at your disposal and SWISH your way through to the victory.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War

Android Police coverage: Ubisoft Publishes WWI Drama Game Valiant Hearts: The Great War For Android And Android TV

War games are usually about an impossibly overpowered one-man army killing thousands of bad guys. Valiant Hearts is different: it’s a dramatic story about realistic people (drawn in a disjointing cartoon style) dealing with the horrors of World War I. This PC and console pilgrim comes with the first episode in the story for five bucks, with additional episodes available at about $5 each. There’s a discount for buying them in packages.

Immerse yourself in the touching story of four unsung heroes swept up by World War 1 in this unique interactive graphic novel that combines action, puzzles and adventure. Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a 4-part, episodic game inspired by letters from World War 1. Initial app purchase includes Episode 1. Episodes 2-4 are available as multipack or individual in-app purchases. An emotional adventure game delivered with a unique tone and art style.

Godus

Android Police coverage: Play As A Benevolent Creator In Peter Molyneux’s Godus, Now Available For Android

Godus started as a PC game, but with its clever push-pull terrain sculpting and simple art style, you could believe it was made for mobile. This spiritual successor to Peter Molyneux’s Populous has you gently guiding a tribe of stone age wanderers all the way up to the space age, with some simple directions, the ability to move mountains, and the odd miracle or two. And a periodic rain of hellfire, of course. The mobile version is heavy on the IAP and social networking.

World of Tanks Blitz

Android Police coverage: World Of Tanks Blitz Brings The Popular PC MOBA To The Play Store With Android-iOS Cross-Platform Battles

World of Tanks is a popular free-to-play PC game that pits semi-accurate WWII era tanks against each other in 7-on-7 online battles. This mobile version is essentially the same thing, though of course it’s been somewhat tamed to fit the graphical and input restrictions of phones and tablets. World of Tanks Blitz was released months ago on iOS, which is a bit disheartening. But the good news is that with cross-platform gameplay, it already has thousands of online players you can take on.

World of Tanks Blitz is a free-to-play mobile MMO action game developed by Wargaming, the award-winning online game developer and publisher of World of Tanks, the smash PC hit now with over 100 million players worldwide. Drawing inspiration from the PC version, World of Tanks Blitz is built specifically for optimal online mobile gameplay and is currently available on your Android device.

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath

Android Police coverage: [Update: Now On The Play Store!] Console Classic Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath Comes To Android As An Amazon Exclusive (For Now)

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath first came out on the Xbox way back in 2005. Now you can get the last entry in the much-loved franchise on your Android device, complete with the extremely unique setting and both third-person and first-person bounty hunting gameplay. You’ll need a pretty powerful Android 4.0+ device to run the game, but it’s a premium title at a very reasonable $6. External controller support is included for that classic console experience.

Prepare to immerse yourself in 20 + hours of action-adventure In the dusty, undeveloped wastelands of Western Mudos, cantankerous townsfolk find their settlements besieged by belligerent outlaws. Along comes Stranger, a drifter turned bounty hunter, with a unique double-barreled critter-firing crossbow. Stranger’s Wrath has been passionately upgraded for this all-new release with all exciting new controls that make the most of the mobile format and improved visuals throughout.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall – DC

Android Police coverage: Shadowrun Returns, Uh, Returns With The Dragonfall Stand-Alone Expansion

There’s no shortage of quality tactical RPGs on the Play Store, but that’s no reason to ignore another one. Dragonfall is an expansion to Shadowrun Returns, though on Android it’s a stand-alone $7 title. The same fantasy-meets-cyberpunk world is presented in 17 new levels, along with new characters, weapons, attacks, and a tweaked touch interface. You don’t have to play the first game to play this one, but it’s highly recommended for context and practice.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall – Director’s Cut is a standalone release of Harebrained Schemes’ critically-acclaimed Dragonfall campaign. The Director’s Cut adds a host of new content and enhancements to the original game: 5 all-new missions, alternate endings, new music, a redesigned interface, team customization options, a revamped combat system, and more – making it the definitive version of this one-of-a-kind cyberpunk RPG experience.

ESJ: Groove City

Android Police coverage: ‘Electronic Super Joy: Groove City’ Jams Into The Play Store With A Catchy Beat And Enough Sex Jokes To Make A Grown Man Giggle

Electronic Super Joy is one of those platformers that takes intense pleasure in difficult, precise running and jumping. It also takes pleasure in being extremely… porny. Between the thumping soundtrack and a minimalist visual style that still manages to cram in a ton of risqué sex jokes, it’s something you might not want to play when your grandparents come over for Christmas. The game is relatively expensive at $5, but includes a free Steam key so you can play it on your PC.

A sequel to the platforming hit, Electronic Super Joy. A brave new World, ending in an Epic Boss Fight. Jump, dodge & dance among insane hazards, missiles, lasers & monsters in this crazy platformer. A Giant Robot Stripper called JoJo has smashed Groove City. She’s angry because Dr Swinger stole her Laser-Nipples. Help JoJo reclaim her Laser-Nipples & defeat the Evil Plans of Dr.Swinger, with the help of Pope Boris the Super Sexy.

Bitcoin Billionaire

Android Police coverage: Make Imaginary Internet Money With Frantic Tapping In Noodlecake’s Oddly Addictive Bitcoin Billionaire

Bitcoin Billionaire is basically a mix between Kairosoft’s pixelated manager titles and the inexplicably popular Cookie Clicker. Tap your avatar like a maniac to make him or her “mine” Bitcoins, slamming the keyboard like a character in a bad hacker movie. You can use your cryptographic income to improve your mining rig (computer) for even faster collection, or customize your avatar or office.

Quick. Sit down and start tapping. Bitcoin Billionaire is an idle clicker that’s all about raking in bitcoins and building up a massive fortune. You start with almost nothing: a run-down office, a rickety old desk, a crummy computer. By tapping the screen you can mine virtual bitcoins and slowly increase your wealth. Spend digital dough to upgrade that awful furniture into swanky things like entertainment centers and priceless works of art.

RGB Express

Android Police coverage: iOS Favorite RGB Express Is Out On The Play Store, Mixing Snake With Package Delivery

Imagine a game of Snake that was slowed down and tuned more towards puzzles. That’s RGB Express, a game that has you ordering a bunch of delivery trucks around a tiny pixelated world. You’ll have to get the right truck and the right package to the right destination, and each one can’t pass its own growing trail or the trails of other trucks. The later stages include some ingenious implementations of the simple mechanic. RGB Express is free and ad-supported, with IAP for more levels and hints (not coins) that can also be earned in-game.

RGB Express is a unique and beautiful puzzle game. Simple to play, yet super addictive. You are running RGB Express, the one and only company specialized in delivering colors. The game starts off with easy puzzles, which will teach you the many tricks, that help you solve the more difficult ones. There are bridges, buttons, sometimes you must swap cargo from one truck to another.. Eventually you will meet the mysterious white car.

DRAGON QUEST III

Android Police coverage: The World Of Square Enix’s Dragon Quest III Is Now Open To Android Gamers Who Can Spare $9.99 For The Journey

Square Enix is slowly but surely making its way through a huge backlog of Dragon Quest games, which is handy, since we apparently won’t see any 3D Final Fantasy games on Android for another few decades. Dragon Quest III is the last entry in the franchise’s first major story arc, and this entry includes user-customizable traits and jobs for all party members. Like most Square games it’s expensive at $10, but at last they’ve gotten over those in-game downloads.

DRAGON QUEST III: The Seeds of Salvation—one of the most highly acclaimed and best-selling games in the franchise is finally here for mobile. Now all three installments of the Erdrick Trilogy can be played in the palm of your hand. Every wondrous weapon, spectacular spell and awesome adversary in this rich fantasy world is yours to discover in a single standalone package.

THE KING OF FIGHTERS-A 2012(F)

Android Police coverage: SNK Re-Releases The King Of Fighters 2012 For Free To Celebrate The Series’ 20th Anniversary

How many King of Fighters games do we have on Android now? I lost count about a year ago. This one is a re-re-re-re-release (I think) of KoF VIII, this time in a free-to-play package. But don’t let that get you down: it’s not packed with in-app purchases, just advertising. This 20th anniversary edition includes twelve new 2D fighters and six game modes… but not Bluetooth controller support or multiplayer. Bummer.

Popular 2D VS fighting game “THE KING OF FIGHTERS-A 2012” returns as a free app to celebrate KOF 20th Anniversary. In addition to the characters from he previous installment, the 4 new “ART OF FIGHTING”, “PSYCHO SOLDIER”, “KIM”, and “IKARI” teams (12 new characters), join the cast of “KOF-A”.! You can now create your favorite team from this formidable roster of 32 fighters. 6 game modes are available for thousands of hours of enjoyment even when playing alone.

Peggle Blast

Android Police coverage: Peggle Blast Has Arrived In The Play Store With The Usual Boatload Of EA In-App Purchases

If you’ve somehow been able to avoid casual smash hit Peggle, here’s the gist: it’s a digital version of Pachinko, which is basically Japan’s vertical take on pinball. This portable version includes physics-defying stages and power-ups, not to mention sickeningly cute characters that will help or hinder your bouncy quest. Of course, since it’s an EA mobile game, Peggle Blast includes so many IAPs that you might want to look elsewhere.

Take your best shot with a blend of luck, skill, and joyous thrills in Peggle™ Blast. Clear the orange pegs as you rack up bonus points, and hit style shots that’ll make you smile for weeks. Learn from Peggle Masters and harness their powers to score big in peg-popping challenges. From the makers of Bejeweled™ and Plants vs. Zombies™ comes the newest PopCap game, bursting with character, charm, and fun. Join the millions who adore the magic of Peggle. Aim for greatness.

Call of Duty®: Heroes

Android Police coverage: Activision Tries Its Hand At Clash Of Clans Cloning With Call Of Duty: Heroes

Call of Duty: Heroes is Clash of Clans. No, really, it is: base building, mild strategy, online social play, tons and tons of in-app purchases. Aside from the Call of Duty-themed skin, the only unique feature it has to boast are “killstreaks,” screen-filling attacks with tons of bonus damage, in the vein of the powered-up attacks from the console games. Unless you’re a big fan of the frankly boring stories and characters from the COD games, skip this one.

Command an army of legendary heroes, elite soldiers, and devastating drones straight from the Call of Duty franchise in this 3D combat strategy game. Customize your base and train elite forces to dominate your enemies in fierce battles featuring fully controllable heroes and epic Killstreaks, like the first-person chopper gunner. Take command of a small outpost and build it up into an impenetrable base.

Amazing Ninja

Amazing Ninja is a super-simple game that nonetheless manages to be surprisingly engaging. There are only two controls: jump and slash. As your stickman character runs forward, jump over the fleeing blue ninjas and across to the next platform, and slash the red ninjas as they come up. It’s addictive in a Flappy Bird kind of way, but the pace and physics don’t make it feel like the game is against you. Amazing Ninja is a free download with a single $2 in-app purchase to remove ads.

You are a skillful ninja and your goal is to kill the red ninjas and save the blue ones.

Offroad Legends 2

The original Offroad Legends managed to score more than five million downloads on the Play Store thanks to Trials-style 2D movement and impressive graphics. The sequel brings more of the same, but it includes a wider variety of tracks and vehicles, support for generic controllers and Google Play Games, and a “kids mode” with super-easy and simple tracks. IAP is included, but it’s fairly benign: you unlock cars, not currency, and the most expensive one is just three bucks.

This is your chance to experience the thrill of driving Monster Trucks, desert Trucks and 4×4 off-roaders over amazing jump filled tracks. Experience cutting edge graphics, ground breaking physics and adrenaline-filled excitement in Offroad Legends 2.

Offroad Legends 2 features:

• More detailed and complex graphics and physics than ever
• More than 48 amazing tracks to beat
• 12 ultra detailed vehicles to unlock and drive
• Turn based multiplayer via Google Game Services
• Controller support
• Playground for the kids (No damage, easy tracks)
• Monster trucks, Desert trucks, 4×4 offroaders, Oldtimers.

Touch Racing 2

Racing games on mobile devices always have to wrestle with touch controls. This game takes the old “left, right, or tilt” formula and throws it out the window: you steer your car by touching the top-down track ahead, almost as if it was attached with a rubber band. The RC theme allows you to drive cars or boats, and with 81 tracks, an upgrade mechanic, and online multiplayer, there’s plenty to occupy your time. Just watch out for those IAP gluttons in the online matches.

Race extreme speed cars, offroad rally vehicles & power boats in this awesome arcade R/C racing game. From the award-winning development team that brought you the multi-million downloaded RunBot.

  • UPGRADE EVERY ASPECT of your vehicles – chassis, tyres, engine, body, spoiler as you progress through your racing career.
  • CUSTOMIZE your ride with stickers and new paint jobs.
  • CHALLENGE your friends or random racing rivals in MULTIPLAYER mode.
  • ENCOUNTER a great cast of wacky and memorable bosses as you progress from an R/C rookie to a global legend.
  • UNIQUE touch-and-drag control system means anyone can learn to play in seconds – whether you’re a novice player or die-hard gamer.

Tipsoccer

Here at Android Police, we’re nearly all Americans. That makes it easy for us to make fun of soccer, and we do so at pretty much every opportunity. The developer of Tipsoccer seems to have a similar attitude, and hasn’t let a complete ignorance of the world’s most popular sport stop them from making a game about it. Tap like hell to get barely-animated players to score a goal with extremely floaty physics, or play against a human opponent on the same device, preferably after getting thoroughly tipsy first.

We have no idea how soccer works. We just want to play it. Come with us and let’s have drunk fun with soccer.

  • Soccer (also called european football).
  • Solo play against a drunk AI, and local versus.
  • Never, ever, in this ungrateful world, in-app purchases or ads. You buy once, you get the whole deal, including updates and new content.
  • Crazy teams, like Spartans, Zombies or ‘murica.
  • Several configurations including acrobatics, tennis ball on a squash field (eh, told you we didn’t know a thing about soccer.) and weighed steel ball on the Moon… -wait, what?
  • Two buttons configuration for courageous dudes.
  • Wilford Warfstache, a robot who’s a cop and even cacti. -what the hell is happening in this game?!

Run Sackboy! Run!

PlayStation fans will recognize Sackboy from the LittleBigPlanet series of platformers starting on the PS3. While one of those titles could be adapted for mobile relatively easily, we aren’t quite so lucky: we get a pretty standard endless runner instead. Running, jumping, obstacles, power-ups, you’ve seen all this before, but at least it looks pretty good on Android. Costumes are a big part of the appeal of the console games, and so it is here. In-app purchases are present for power-ups and currency.

Sackboy, the knitted hero from the multi-award winning LittleBigPlanet™ series on PlayStation® lands into the palm of your hand in this brand new endless platformer. RUN as fast as you can through an ever-changing handcrafted world DASH to ESCAPE the GOO and the clutches of the grumpy Negativitron.

  • Iconic worlds and characters from the LittleBigPlanetâ„¢ games
  • Exclusive costumes to customise your Sackboy
  • Collect Stickers to unlock Prizes.
  • Power Ups and Upgrades including the all-new Glider.
  • Challenge and compete with your friends
